Meditation is not a mystical Practice. It is a very simple, pragmatic practice for us to calm and train our mind and bring out our inherent qualities of openness, warmth, peacefulness and courage. Learning to Meditate can help us overcome stress and fears, work with our emotions, stabilize and calm our mind, so that we can engage more effectively in our world, our work and also our spiritual practices. Meditation in the Shambhala community is mindfulness awareness practice from the Buddha. Taught by the Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, a modern Buddhist meditation master, it is a modern and secular approach to learning the wisdom of the meditative tradition and in particular mindfulness and awareness meditation practices.
